Sören Hüper (Hamburg)

Sören Hüper’s (*1973) passion for cinema was sparked by „James Bond“, his passion for television and series by „Derrick“. After his graduation in business studies he completed his studies of cinema at the University of Hamburg (2000-2002) in the production course held by Prof. Hark Bohm. During his studies he produced various, multiple award-winning shortfilms from 5 to 30 minutes running time. His graduation film “Die Katze von Altona” was nominated for the German Short Film Award and won several audience awards.

After his film studies he worked as trainee for Monaco Film and Studio Hamburg. Since 2003 he has worked as freelance director, script writer and producer in Hamburg. His debut as director “Anna and the Soldier“ (in collaboration with Christian Prettin, 10 minutes, 35mm) has been screened at 140 national and international festivals and has won 15 awards so far.
